Keeping the tradition alive while imagining the future sea economy
Valdettaro Group is made up of companies that have been operating for decades in the nautical sector, offering multiple services: from shipbuilding, to marina services, up to accommodation and tourist experiences, all with a common denominator: a great passion for the sea.
A dynamic industrial group in continuous expansion, which operates from Liguria to Tuscany, up to Sardinia. Born to keep the tradition of historic Italian shipyards alive, it then focused on offering a complete range of services, becoming a point of reference for the upper Tyrrhenian Sea for the maintenance of boats ranging from small wooden fishing boats to mega yachts of 100m.

Nature, beauty, quality services
We have imagined a shipyard integrated into the environment, which is why we have adopted the colors of the island in the infrastructures and all the equipment of the shipyard: the sand-colored docks, the shed covered in Sardinian stone surrounded by the green of the Mediterranean scrub. Not only a workplace, but also a sustainable space.
All our processes and interventions are carried out with the utmost respect and protection of the surrounding environment, with excellent quality personnel, specially selected for a new concept of shipyard.
We believe that the sea is a resource to be defended and valued, which is why welcoming boats and their crews in the best possible way is our mission.
HIGH PROFESSIONALISM
A hub of skills
This ambitious project was carried out entirely with Sardinian companies and suppliers. VALDETTARO OLBIA employs Sardinian professionals and undertakes to create new highly qualified figures with professional training courses.
Costa Smeralda is the main destination for maxi yachts and our mission is to provide them with top-level facilities and professionals.

Boating, tourism and environmental education
VALDETTARO OLBIA was born from a true passion for the sea: the Vanelo family strongly believed in the nautical sector by saving historic shipyards in La Spezia, creating a small marina in the Gulf of Poets and investing in hospitality and coastal tourism.
Ugo Vanelo, director of VALDETTARO OLBIA, is a nautical entrepreneur, but above all a great sailing enthusiast (Optimist 1988 world champion).
Member of many environmental associations, Vanelo is the promoter of numerous projects related to all marine activities and, first of all, to environmental education.

One Ocean Foundation
Ugo Vanelo, director of VALDETTARO OLBIA is a founding member of One Ocean, the foundation
promoted by the Costa Smeralda Yacht Club to help save the seas and oceans.
The foundation’s mission is to accelerate solutions to ocean problems by inspiring
international leaders, companies, institutions and individuals promoting a sustainable blue economy
and improving knowledge of the oceans through ocean literacy.
